Why East Sixth?

If you have ever enjoyed the nightlife in Austin, you may be familiar with East Sixth Street. Home to many eclectic shops, restaurants, dives & cocktail bars, this is a great place to immerse yourself in the Austin vibe. It’s quite new in relation to West Sixth, with the gentrification of East Austin surging over the past ten years. A few spots to note, Shangri-La, where Bill Murray served up some cocktails during SXSW in 2010. Ah Sing Den, serving up an eclectic array of Asian-inspired cocktails showcasing some unique combinations of sake, coffee & tea. Via 313 is a great spot to try some Detroit-style deep-dish pizza. Gemelli, which means twins in Italian, is the spot to satisfy your sweet tooth and discover the art of gelato. Ramen Tatsu-ya is another Austin staple you’ll find on this famous street. The owners are both chefs and DJs, so you can rest assured the music will be on point while enjoying the immense variety of ramen served up daily at Tatsu-ya. These are just a few examples to whet your appetite, but the list goes on.
